These days that holidays and summer is approaching I can’t avoid thinking on summer music festivals while I hear my favorite songs. Due to the international crisis many of them have been canceled because of the lack of cash. This already started last year when summercase, for example, didn’t take place at Barcelona even being considered a successful festival the year before. The reason summer is a perfect period to organize this type of events is pretty obvious.
In first place we can point out at the weather. Weather is very important as this type of festival get hundreds and hundreds of people together (some of them get over 50 thousand people) and you can’t hold the event inside a close building and have to make use of open air scenarios. It’s pretty annoying to have all that many people and get a rainy day, or even worse a windy day where things might fly around and be dangerous for the spectator.
Secondly, summer makes the festival cheaper. You got much more sunlight so people are keener to assist to this type of events. Also, could be considered a weather factor too, you can organize large camping zones which proved cheap accommodation. On winter this kind of things are not that easy as land can be wet and camping might not be the best thing to do, not to mention no one wants to camp on rainy or cold days.
Another factor is the fact that most of the people have holidays in summer so they have fewer problems to assist to the festivals. They have no need to think about next day as they don’t have to work or have any big responsibilities, they just have to worry about having fun and making the most of their time at the festival.
Might be a consequence of many festivals taking place in summer but many of the group tours have summer as an important part of it. It’s pretty strange to see bands not having a summer inside their music tour. Only elite singers as U2, Madonna and others have no need to take this factor into account, as no matter what they do or how bad the selected dates are, they will end up filling whatever stadium or place they decide to organize a concert.
To end up, I’ll like to mention a few of the festivals taking place this summer and what type of music you can find on them. I would love assisting them but they are not cheap enough for me so I’ll just limit myself to think about them as a future plan for upcoming years.
Festival international of Benicassin, also known as FIB, is one of the few that takes place near where I’m currently studying. Its focuses on Indie music and rock as main groups but you can find a great number of Dj’s after 1am. It lasts for 4 days but you got camping access for like 10. So you can look at it as a short vacation period if you make use of those 10 days of free camping. One of the main groups coming this year is The Prodigy.
Sonisphere is another festival which will be hold at Madrid this year. Compared to the Fib, which has been organized already 15 years, this one is its second year. Last year it took place at Barcelona with Metallica as main group. It’s mainly a 2 day heavy metal and rock festival.
Another very important festival taking place in Spain is the Sonar. It defines itself as the international festival of advanced music and multimedia art. I could define it as an electronic music festival with culture stuff. The culture stuff or multimedia art includes new technology, expositions, new talents, and many other points of views from music that most of festivals don’t have. It doesn’t limit itself to just a bunch of groups/dj’s and their music. It gives you something more. Another important factor is that this festival is full day festival. It’s divided into Sonar by day, which is mix of culture stuff, new talents, and small groups and takes place during the day. And the regular Sonar, which not only takes place at a different place of the city but its more focused to the electronic music and popular Dj’s. It also has some of the weird electronic talents with experimental music which might not be music for all peoples ears. This year the sonar festival is bringing into stage Soundsystem, Plastikman, 2manyDjs, the chemical brothers, Roxy among others.
The last festival I’ll like to mention is the Leeds festival which isn’t too hard to guess where it takes place. Maybe Leeds? This festival is many times compared with the FIB festival. The music groups style is pretty much the same and they even share a couple of groups sometimes. Normally this one is a bit “bigger”. Many times the FIB festival is defines as the Leeds festival with good weather. It is well known that Spanish weather is much better than England weather. So if you are a fan of indie music, dj’s and a bit of rock and want to visit England this is a good excuse to go there. This year main groups to fill up the 2 main stages are Gun’s and roses, a mythic group that doesn’t matter the years they pass they will always be at the top, Blink 182, Arcade Fire, Klaxons, Pendulum and soundsystem.
I really recommend anyone keen on music, couple free days and of course a bit of cash t-o attend any of these music festivals. The Sonisphere festival will be the first one to take place the second weekend of June (9th and 10th). One week later you can fly to Barcelona to attend the Sonar festival. Not really 1 week as this one starts on Thursday so just a 4 day difference between them. On middle summer, on July the 15th, to be exact, starts the FIB festival lasting till the 18th. To give a good end to the summer you can take a flight and go to Leeds between the 27th and the 29th of August. Just make you pick and fly to any of them if you want to have fun and good music.

Ice-creams

We are having a strange weather this year. Its spring but it doesn’t look much like it some days. Heavy rainy days and very cold nights are becoming a common this spring which many people desires to end it as soon as possible in order to enter the summer. It might not change too much, we’ve had worse years, but you never lose the hope and expect something better.
When you speak about summer, the first thing that comes into your mind is hot days and beach. Most of the people right now, with these cloudy days, looks at the sky and founds their self in the beach, sunbathing under the sun while waves crash into the beach. Thinking about summer is just making me hot and start sweeting. What could I do in order to be more comfortable under this impressive sun? I got the right answer for that lets all take an ICECREAM. Let’s talk about ice-creams.
With the summer right there you can start watching TV ads about ice-creams and shops are getting ready to offer the usual branch of ice-creams that fills them up every summer. Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or cream are the classic ice-creams everyone has. But the same way technology moves forwards ice-creams do too and currently we can find a huge branch of ice-cream flavors.
Let’s take for example Häagen-Dazs and its classic branch. They’ve got 12 kinds of flavors but the idea of classic refers to the original they started doing probably. Smoothie Raspberry & Summer Berries is not classic at all. I just let my mum know about this flavor and she might not even know what kind of taste it might have. In the other hand we got Belgian chocolate and Strawberries and cream which really can be considered as classic ice-creams. The point of all this is the same way world keep moving ice-creams flavors do too and we are getting to a point where you have no idea what the ice-cream is from but you don’t really care as long as it has a nice refreshing taste.
My favorite ice-creams are “dulce de leche“, “macadamia” and “tarta de queso” (cheese cake). They are set in the classic branch which fit pretty well as they are old flavors that have always existed. I truly recommend everyone who likes ice-cream to taste this three, they are delicious and you never get bored of them. If I could have them for free I wouldn’t stop enjoying them but for my disgrace or good luck, as I would get fat if I could take as many as I wished, Häagen-Dazs is extremely expensive. With the cost of one you can sometimes buy 3 or 4 from cheaper marks.
Before I finish with this entire refreshing ice-cream affair I would like to point out a few of the exclusive Häagen-Dazs flavors they offer at the shop. The first one is the vanilla caramel Brownie, I have completely no idea what this might taste, I could image a vanilla caramel flavor but adding brownie into it might get a strange mix in the mouth and it can either be extremely wonderful or the strangest thing someone can ever taste. The other one is the Pomegranate white peach & orange blossom limited edition, just to point out that even in ice-creams there’s is elite editions which only stay for a limited time for sale and the large and weirdest name they got the better.
I would just like to end up hoping springs gets better and summer comes up soon so we can enjoy ice-creams and all other stuff the good time provides us.

San Francisco!

After doing a small review on Tokyo I thought it would be a nice idea to do a small review on a few more cities I have in mind to travel to. I’ll start with San Francisco which is the most remote of the cities if we don’t consider Tokyo as we already did talked about it before. It’s hard to think of someone who has never heard or seen images of San Francisco. Many of the buildings and emblematic things you can find in the city have been taken to movies. Who has never heard of the golden gate? Or never seen the Alcatraz prison that has appeared on tons of films? It also has the china town, one of the most famous places of the city.
The city of San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the 12th most populous city in the United States, with a 2008 estimated population of 808,977. Its land area is of 46.7 square miles (121 km2) on the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula, making it the second-most densely populated large city (greater than 200,000 population) in the United States. San Francisco is also the financial, cultural, and transportation center of the larger San Francisco Bay Area, a region of 7.4 million people.
Let’s take a look at the history of San Francisco. As most of you might already know America is a continent recently discovered. In other words there’s not that much data about it and his history as there is in Europe for example. In 1776, the Spanish established a fort at the Golden Gate and a mission named for Francis of Assisi on the site. The California Gold Rush in 1848 propelled the city into a period of rapid growth, increasing the population in one year from 1,000 to 25,000, and thus transforming it into the largest city on the West Coast at the time. After three-quarters of the city was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake and fire, San Francisco was quickly rebuilt, hosting the Panama-Pacific International Exposition nine years later. During World War II, San Francisco was the port of embarkation for service members shipping out to the Pacific Theater. After the war, the confluence of returning servicemen, massive immigration, liberalizing attitudes, and other factors led to the Summer of Love and the gay rights movement, cementing San Francisco as a center of liberal activism in the United States.
Today, San Francisco is a popular international tourist destination, renowned for its chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture and its famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, and Chinatown. The city is also a principal banking and finance center, and the home of over 30 international financial institutions, helping to make San Francisco eighteenth place in the world’s top producing cities, ninth in the United States, and is fifteenth place in the top twenty Global Financial Centers.
For most of the people San Francisco might not be a city you must visit in your life, but from my point of view is something special and I would love to go there sometime in the future if I decide not to go this time there. It’s a city where you feel like if you were in a film yourself. As I’ve been told, that feeling it’s not the same as the one you can get from New York, where what you see is exactly what you’ve seen thousands of times on films. San Francisco is different; you’ve seen the big picture but not the details of the things. Meanwhile New York is pretty simple and barely has details as most of the buildings are that, just buildings, San Francisco has many things you could stare for hours and still find them interesting.

My summer in… Tokyo?

Last night i was watching TV, errr to be honest, more than watching I was hearing TV as I was doing other stuff around the house and the TV was on as background sound. They started talking about a japan bank affair. The news itself didn’t get much my attention but the fact of talking about japan did. From then on I couldn’t get out of my mind the idea of japan and Tokyo, a city I’ve always wanted to visit.
I decided to search information about Japan and Tokyo as soon as I finished the stuff I was doing. I started my research on the net at Wikipedia. Who doesn’t know Wikipedia? The information in it might not be 100% reliable as most of the information is introduced by fans but it’s a good starting point.
Japan is located at east of Asia, and its total area is 377k km2. Compared to Spain is ¾ of its size and has 3 times more population (127 millions). So in other words it has a lot more population in less space. Their government is the same as the one we got in Spain; it’s a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy and their official language is Japanese.
Japan is divided into 8 regions which at the same time are divided into prefectures. The entire county consists of forty-seven prefectures, each overseen by an elected governor, legislature and administrative bureaucracy. Each prefecture is further divided into cities, towns and villages.
What really catches my attention of this country is its capital Tokyo. It is located on the eastern side of the main island Honshū and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. The population of the special wards is over 8 million people, with the total population of the prefecture exceeding 13 million.
Tokyo is one of the three world finance “command centers”, along with New York and London. Tokyo has the largest metropolitan economy in the world. According to a study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Tokyo urban area (35.2 million people) had a total GDP of US$1.479 trillion in 2008 (at purchasing power parity), which topped the list. [3] As of 2008, 47 of the companies listed on the Global 500 are based in Tokyo, almost twice that of the second-placed city (Paris).
Tokyo, as the center of the Greater Tokyo Area, is Japan’s largest domestic and international hub for rail, ground, and air transportation. Public transportation within Tokyo is dominated by an extensive network of clean and efficient trains and subways run by a variety of operators, with buses, monorails and trams playing a secondary feeder role.
Architecture in Tokyo has largely been shaped by Tokyo’s history. Twice in recent history has the metropolis been left in ruins: first in the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake and later after extensive firebombing in World War II. Because of this, Tokyo’s current urban landscape is one of modern and contemporary architecture, and older buildings are scarce.
Tokyo also contains numerous parks and gardens.

With the summer getting closer I was thinking about taking some holidays and fly far away from here. Visit something completely different to what I’m used to deal with and discover new experiences out of my routine. I started brainstorming about where to go and the advantages of each place. Rome, San Francisco, Tokyo and London are few places that I came across. Rome is probably the cheapest option but probably the less radical of all of them. London and San Francisco have the advantage I could practice my English and get back not only with a new experience but probably with a pretty good English speaking level. Finally Tokyo comes up as the most impressive experience, not only I would travel to a completely different place but also, as I’ve been told, English isn’t that much useful as in many other countries in the world, which means I should make use of other abilities in order to communicate with the people there.
Where to go is a very important question, but there’s many more question to do yourself when you decide to take some holidays which can effect the destination. Firstly my budget isn’t unlimited so I better be careful, going far away means spending less money at destination as most of the money flies away on transport, but staying closer might end up not being that much different as I wanted it to be. Secondly, am I going to travel alone or is someone going to come with me? In that case they might have something to say about where to travel to. The destination mentioned above are “available” all year, meaning this I don’t have to worry if its summer or winter there as they are always a nice place to go.
All these and many questions have to be taken into account before taking decisions, but right now, what worries me most is the plane. For the same reason half Europe is looking south-west of the continent, to island to be exactly.

What is driving Europe crazy these days? Might it be the end of soccer seasons in most of European countries? Or might it be other sports like the F1 that has started its tour around European lands? Yeah, we all know sports make people crazy but it doesn’t affect everyone. What I’m really talking about is the volcano in Island, the one under the Eyjafjalla glacier. Many of you might be thinking, how can a volcano located in a small island at North West of Europe have the rest of the continent on its nerves?
It all started on Thursday the 15th of April when the volcano erupted unexpectedly. By unexpectedly I don’t mean that everyone wasn’t prepared. With nowadays technology they can know volcano activity pretty good and determinate if one is going to erupt in the near future or not. But in this case, on long term plans, this volcano wasn’t expected to erupt until many years later. Since 1923 Island has suffered 21 eruptions from its many active volcanoes, last one dated on 2004. The last know eruption of the volcano under the Eyjafjalla glacier was in 1821, almost 200 years ago.
And how is this affecting Europe? It’s just a volcano in far island kilometers away from the continent. The volcano activity is mainly lava and ashes thrown to the air. Lava is staying in Island but the not ashes. The amount of ashes thrown to the air is that many that is creating a huge ash cloud which moved by airstreams and is covering Europe. It might be unnoticeable for the regular people in land as me but it is really affecting the flights. Due to this cloud many airports have had no other option than close their Air zones and don’t let planes takeoffs. The ash is a flight risk because it contains particles of rock, glass and sand that may affect the turbines and get to stop the aircraft engine which would end up in a plane crash. There has been days where more than 50% of the flights in Europe have been cancelled causing millionaire looses not only to air companies but also to many others who depend on airplanes to move around stuff or people.
And how can does this really affect a normal European citizen like me? You can mainly find yourself in 2 situations. In one hand you can find the airport closed or your flight cancelled because your destination airport is closed on your departure. This might delay your holidays but you can always return home and wait there and take decisions. In the other hand you can find yourself stuck on your returning day. You have no house to return there, so you either stay at the airport or wait for the situation to set down and return or find and alternative route back home. The other option is to go back to the hotel and wait until its safe again to fly back home. No matter the option you pick it means spending extra money you didn’t expect to make use. Staying at the airport might be the cheapest option but not always the smarter as it might take days to until the ashes move away. It also provides the possibility to find a ticket sooner as a free space on another flight might be given out just minutes before a plane that suits your needs takes off. At a hotel you are not able to take those planes as by the time you reach the airport it might have left already. But you are more comfortable as you wait for the air company to phone you and inform you there is a flight you can take.
The worst thing of all is that due to the nature of this incident they got no obligation to offer you any a compensation to their disability to fly. So any hotel or any extra cost induced by this incident must run at your own cost. It’s not the same if you can’t fly due to a miscalculation of the company that sold more tickets than they could afford or due to bad maintenance of their aircraft or a natural disaster as this case.
I guess right now there are no other options than staying tuned to the radio, television or other news system checking how the ash cloud is moving around. Right now the airstreams are causing funny things such as having north Europe airports closed but the ones between them and the source of the ashes in island, the central Europe airports, opened.

Travelling

Today I want to talk about beautiful places when you can visit. Also, this serve me to learn since i love travel.

I have many hobbies such as sport, reading, art, dancing, going out, music …
But one of my favorites is definitely travel. The world is huge and there is much to know and learn. Right now I’ve only been to London and France to end of year holidays. But I would like visit other places and discover new things! The worst thing is that it takes money. Athough today there are many offers and you can travel with a little. But sometimes little is much. However, this is other matter.

I’m obsessed with Italy so much. It’s one of the best places on the world for me. It’s got so many art, the food is delicious; sphaguetti, pizza capuccino… the men are very cute and the language is nice. When I grow up I want to live there, I’m sure!

ITALY

Italy boasts a long period of different architectural styles, from Classical Roman and Greek, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Classical, Art Nouveau to Modern. The nation contains several architectural monuments, such as the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Piazza del Campo, Milan Cathedral, Florence Cathedral, the Palladian Villas of the Veneto, the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, Villa Olmo and the Pirelli Tower. Italy has also been home to numerous famous architects, some who even changed the course of architectural history, such as Andrea Palladio (who founded Palladianism), Filippo Brunelleschi, Bernini and Renzo Piano, to name but a few.

BORA-BORA

Bora Bora is an island in the Leeward group of the Society Islands of French Polynesia, an overseas collectivity of France in the Pacific Ocean. The island, located about 230 kilometres (140 mi) northwest of Papeete, is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef. In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano rising to two peaks, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu, the highest point at 727 metres (2,385 ft). The original name of the island in the Tahitian language might be better rendered as Pora Pora, meaning “First Born”; an early transcription found in 18th- and 19th century accounts, is Bolabolla or Bollabolla.

In my opinion, it’s the most heavenly place that can exist but it’s very expensive too.

EGYPT

Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world’s most famous monuments, including the Giza pyramid complex and its Great Sphinx. The southern city of Luxor contains numerous ancient artifacts, such as the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings. Egypt is widely regarded as an important political and cultural nation of the Middle East.

INDIA

India’s culture is marked by a high degree of syncretism and cultural pluralism.It has managed to preserve established traditions while absorbing new customs, traditions, and ideas from invaders and immigrants and spreading its cultural influence to other parts of Asia, mainly South East and East Asia. Traditional Indian society is defined by relatively strict social hierarchy. The Indian caste system describes the social stratification and social restrictions in the Indian subcontinent, in which social classes are defined by thousands of endogamous hereditary groups, often termed as jātis or castes.

Indian architecture is one area that represents the diversity of Indian culture. Much of it, including notable monuments such as the Taj Mahal and other examples of Mughal architecture and South Indian architecture, comprises a blend of ancient and varied local traditions from several parts of the country and abroad.

Well, these are four places in the world that I like. Although I think every country is unique and has a beauty like no other. The truth is that I would live travellind around the world, I think you learn more of life like that ;even more than reading books. One thing I want to do is buy a world map and mark the places where I went and places that want to go. For now I’m going to dinner, my mother has done fish, I love it!
Then I guess I’ll watch TV or play with my little brother. He’s a cute, he’s only 3 years old and speaks very well. Although sometimes behaves badly giving kicking, breaking things, screaming … I sometimes I shut him saying that if he doesn’t stop talkng, the monster will come. But my mother gets angry if I do it. On the other hand, sometimes he is very sweet, he says: “I love you”, hugs you and kisses you. I would eat him!

My life

Good Afternoon!

Today I’m going to talk about my family and I.
My family and I live in Valencia since 2000. My parents are divorced and I’ve got three brothers. Two boys, one is 21 years old and another three years old. The boy is the son of my mother’s boyfriend. My biological father lives in barcelona. My stepfather works in a family business selling cleaning products. And my mother is housewife. My older brother is studying but not study hard and as a result he don’t pass the exams. My younger brother goes to kindergarten now. As I said in another post he is so cute, he was born when I was 15 years old. I remember when I saw him. He was very small and I caught him in my arms. He loves Spiderman. My mother buys spiderman’s clothes because he doesn’t want to wear something else. At Christmas she bought him spiderman’s trainers too and he was showing it to people all the day.
Now I live with my family only on weekends and holidays because I had to move to Castellon. I’m studying there. And take the train every day would make me very hard!
I’m living with two girls. One of them studies my degree course (T & I) and the other is studying psychology. The worst of all is rent, 203 euros every month. And the cost of food. On the other hand, is a new experience. You learn to cook and to be independent.

I have many cousins but my favorite has alwaysbeen Amalia. She is 16 years old. We have a very similar characters and we like the same things. His mother (my aunt) has opened a small bar in Valencia. Although she hasn’t got many customers in Christmas holidays. I hope that she has more later. Before moving home, I met with my cousin to go to gym every day. I like the step and aerobic’s coach, is called Jose. He is wonderful. Now I have enroled in capoeira. I’ve always wanted to do it. On the other hand, I was disappointed that there wasn’t funky’s classes. I also enroled in aquagym but as the swimming-pool is a bit far I don’t go. I think I will enrol to something like ballroom dancing or horse riding. Or kick-boxing but in a gym. The problem is that I haven’t any time to do everything …

The sport I practise is that:

Capoeira Angola is the traditional style of Capoeira. It is usually, although not always, characterized by playful, ritualized games, which combine elements of dancing, combat, and music, while stressing interaction between the two players and the musicians and observers. It also contains the African roots and methods of capoeira.

The game of o jogo de Capoeira Angola is a ritualized mock combat that is played with two players within a ring of people, known as a roda (pronounced “hoda”). The game is played to music, which is played by people who form one side of the roda. The musicians form the bateria which is normally composed of other players of the game, rather than specific band members. The objectives of the game are vague, and are largely dependent on the outcomes that are desired by the two players and the person who is in charge of the roda (usually the Mestre). In other words, there is no official winner or loser of the game.

The movements used by the players in attack and defense are characterized by being “closed”, as opposed to open movements which offer the opportunity to be attacked. Being closed refers to an inability of the opponent to attack a weak point because it is covered by a part of the body that is not considered attackable in the game. Closed body parts are thighs, the back, the buttocks, and the arms. Areas considered open when left unguarded, and therefore vulnerable to attacks, are ankles, the head, the stomach and chest, and genitalia.

Capoeira Angola is always played to music. It is not incidental, but rather a crucial element to the game. The reason for this is that during the game there is not only interaction between the players themselves, but also between the music and the players. Often subject matter of songs will describe a situation occurring within the roda, or will call players to change the quality of the game in some way. In an even more fundamental way, the rhythm being played calls for a certain kind of game between the players. For example, one rhythm known as Angola calls for slower games, and less aggressive interaction. Another known as Barra Vento (also referred to by its corresponding style of game Jogo de Dentro) calls for players to play within close proximity to each other with more malicia (aggressive, yet playful trickery). Although these rhythms, or toques are well known to everyone it is rare to observe a distinct change in the game based on a toque changing (with the exception of a game between true adepts), besides a pause to allow the musicians to settle into the new rhythm and a singer to sing an appropriate song.

Today Capoeira Angola academies are present all over the world. Angoleiros cite different reasons for playing, the most important one seems to simply be enjoyment of the game. Added benefits are improved malicia or cunning, physical fitness, musical ability, singing, body awareness, and self-defense ability.

Today already is New Year, 2010!

I’m going to talk about the party of New Years Eve. At the first time, when we arrived to the house, we saw two enormous dogs. They appear dangerous but affortunately one of my friends went to tie them. Then, we had a dinner out of the house. It was terrible because the weather was so cold. At 23: 59 we had grapes with the struck twelve. After we started to drink and dance. Many of my friends spilled the beverage on the floor and as a result it was slippery. Noemi (a friend of one friend) mopped the floor but it took much time to be dry. There was a stupid boy that not let me in living room. I was so angry and I pushed him but I slipped. I was emabarrassed! Later the boy (he is Toni) said me: “It’s a shame that you didn’t break your head” but I ignore him!

I didn’t drink very much this day. I don’t know why but the drink didn’t go to my head. On the other hand, I prefer not finish the night vomiting. I went to the bed at 4:00 am. I slept very bad because I was very cold. Even I took a blanket to cover me. However, it didn’t serve me.

The next day, we woke up to clean the house. It was very dirty, the floor was sticky and we couldn’t walk. I cleaned the table, tidied the sofas and washed the dishes. Noemi mopped the floor again. The others persons helped us too.

I arrived to my house about 12:00. I was very hungry. I did a plain omelette and I ate it with some bread. Then I had a shower and I went to sleep until at 16:00. Jose, my stepfather, made spaghetti for lunch and bought my favourite ice-cream, strawberry cheesecake (häagen dazs). I couldn’t resist eat them, it was delicious!

Seldom I had no hangover but I was very tired. I lay down and saw series like How I Met Your Mother, True Blood and Skins:

Plot: How I Met Your Mother is an American sitcom that premiered on CBS on September 19, 2005.The show was created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. The show was created by television writers Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain, and was first shown on E4 on 25 January, 2007.

I hadn’t sleepy and I phoned to my best friend. She told me that the guy whom she made out is angry because she left him. He insulted her saying, “bitch, slut…” The boy is the same that I hate, Toni!

I phoned Guille too. He is one of my best friends. I miss him so much. Two weeks ago, he sent me a message saying if i want to see a movie with he in his house. I accepted, of course.

He came to pick me up at half past ten. He showed me his bedroom when we were there. He’s got a ships collection in miniature and comics as Ironman. His bedroom is very simple but confortable. Then we saw an episode of Skins. And when it finished we saw the Up’ s film. I liked very much despite it was animation film. In the morning he took me to my house. I only want to sleep when arrived at home. I was o tired!

New Year’s Eve

After looking for houses where we can go in New Year’s Eve for two months, finally we find ones that it looks so good! But the price is quite expensive, we have to pay forty euros each one. Moreover, it hasn’t got deposit. If someone break anything, he has to pay it of his pocket. On the other hand, I’m worried because I don’t know if the party will be enjoyable due to it isn’t good organized. Nevertheless, I intend to enjoy it the most. I don’t know many of people that go there. But it isn’t important to me because I’m happy with my four friends. They are so funny!!!

This year I haven’t bougth anything of clothes because at the stores there isn’t beautiful clothes. Also, I haven’t got much money and I prefer keep it and spend it in others things! Therefore, I’m wearing a pretty dress that I bougth one month ago. It’s got flowers with shades of black, pink and grey. It’s a romantic style and so smart.

Aurora Borealis

Hi again!

Today I have’t done much. In the morning I tried to study but I couldn’t concentrate. Then I went to run, I had a shower and went to the supermarket to buy food. In the afternoon I started to look exotic places on the internet and read an article in viajeros.com talking about a natural phenomenon called aurora borealis. I started looking photos, and it really is incredible.

Aurora happens in both the southern and northern hemispheres, particularly in the polar zone. It is called Aurora Borealis (also known as Northern Lights) in the Artic region and Aurora Australis in the Antartic region. Streaming plasma clouds, composed of fast moving charged particles, form a solar wind. It is the tangential interaction of the solar wind with the earth’s magnetic field that traps some of these charged particles. These trapped particles then flow along the magnetic field lines of the earth into the upper most regions of our planet’s atmosphere. That’s when the lights become manifest and their dance begins.
All it takes is for the earth to have an atmosphere and the sun to eject ions at speeds up to 1200 km/second then BAM! You’ve got some unbelievable mother nature action. Imagine what people must have thought, thousands of years ago, when they saw these streams and swirls of light and color in the evening sky. Watching this spectacular celestial phenomen today, for that matter, is beyond spectacular.

Now I’ll go with my mother to the mall to buy a present for my cousin because today is her birthday. She is already 9 years old. How quickly time flies!
I remember when she was three years old and I played with her in the park.
Later I think I’ll go out with my friends in El Carmen. I’ve heard there’s a pub that’s fine. Music is good and admission is free.
We always walk to there, but today I believe that we will take the subway.
